I'm an ex-ballerina Ph.D. student in the Mathematics department at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
My work lies in the field of intersection between mathematical modeling, scientific computing, and art.
Artistry flows through mathematical methods. Sometimes this is obvious in beautiful visualizations, or subtle, when equations might gracefully embody a complex system. Either way, I hope to remind people of this through my work.
Currently, I am working with Professor Chris Rycroft at UW-Madison on studying computational surrogates for crumpled sheets, a proxy for mechanical systems experiencing damage accumulation and highly disordered, big-data systems in general. Separately, I enjoy studying mathematical models for natural phenomena like plant spirals.
